The Cooper School is seeking a compassionate, skilled and committed School Counsellor. This is a part-time role of 25 hours per week, term time only plus INSET days.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people by providing a professional, confidential and student-centred counselling service. You will support students experiencing a range of emotional, behavioural and mental health challenges, helping them to develop resilience, improve wellbeing and achieve their full potential.
Working closely with colleagues, families and external agencies, you will manage a caseload of students, provide therapeutic interventions, contribute to safeguarding processes and play an active role in promoting positive mental health across the school community.
We are looking for a qualified counsellor with experience of working with children and young people, strong safeguarding knowledge and excellent interpersonal skills. Professional accreditation with BACP, UKCP or an equivalent body is essential, together with a commitment to ongoing professional development and clinical supervision.
If you are passionate about supporting young people's mental health and wellbeing and would like to work in a caring and inclusive school environment, we would love to hear from you.
The Cooper School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check.
