  • Experience of successful teaching or teaching practice in RE at KS3 and KS4
  • A keen interest in developing the teaching of RE

  • A sound knowledge and understanding of The National Curriculum Framework for RE
  • Be willing to increase your knowledge of Catholic theology if not Catholic
  • Knowledge of current trends in the teaching of RE
  • A very good understanding of how children learn
  • A good understanding of assessment strategies
  • An up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the professional duties and core standards of teachers
  • Know or awareness of the assessment requirement and arrangements for the RE GCSE
  • Have knowledge and understanding of how to use and adapt a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies
  • Be flexible, creative and adept at designing learning sequences within lessons and across lessons that are effective and consistently well-matched to learning objectives and the needs of learners
  • Know how to make effective personalised provision for those they teach, and how to take practical account of diversity and promote equality and inclusion in their teaching
